Danville, VA - Danville and Pittsylvania County owe the state of Virginia almost $1 million after the counties a railroad track was built apparently for no reason. They now have to pay back unused grant money after a deal with Swedwood fell through.

A federal judge ordered the Pittsylvania, Va., County Board of Supervisors to stop saying a Christian prayer before its official meetings until a final ruling on a lawsuit can be made. The ruling comes from a lawsuit initiated by the ACLU of Virginia on behalf of an unnamed Pittsylvania County woman who felt disenfranchised while attending county meetings.
